Campus Groningen has announced the 2026 Campus Trail for Friday 11 September at Zernike Campus.
A route through the campus itself
Campus Groningen says the annual four-mile fun run will take place on Friday 11 September 2026, starting at 15:30 on Zernike Campus. The route is designed to pass through campus buildings and facilities, with music along the way rather than operating as a conventional road race.
The organiser lists registration as open. Participants should use the official page for entry conditions, current capacity and practical updates.
Plan for an active working campus
Students with classes or work at Zernike should allow for event activity and follow temporary directions on the day. Participants need clothing suitable for the weather and should not assume every indoor section will feel warm. Walking is explicitly part of the event's invitation, making the format accessible beyond regular runners.
Prepare for a route unlike a normal road run
Indoor passages, corners, thresholds and changes of surface make a building route different from a flat outdoor loop. Participants should follow marshals, keep space around slower runners and walkers and avoid overtaking where the course narrows. Shoes should be comfortable on both hard interior floors and outdoor campus paths.
Check registration confirmation, bag arrangements and arrival instructions before travelling to Zernike. Eat and hydrate as you would for a short active event rather than experimenting on the day. Anyone with a health concern should use appropriate professional advice and the organiser's contact route; a fun-run description does not remove the need to judge personal readiness.
- Arrive early enough for temporary wayfinding.
- Warm up without blocking building entrances.
- Respect participants who choose to walk.
- Check event updates if weather or campus access changes.
